My Holiday in Lanzarote

AVAILABLE ALSO IN: Italian

canarie

After the first HORRIBLE week with the 3 kids with the mouth-hands-feet, finally we had an amazing week in Lanzarote, one of the beatiful Islands of the Canaries.

From Milan we took an airplane and after 4 hours of flight we arrived at Arecife and our hotle was just 10 minutes from the airport. The island is really little so wherever you are it is really not so far way from the airport.I really didn’t like the hotel. Too busy and really not so clean….I suggest to rent a house maybe on the beach!

We also rented a car and me, my mom and 3 kids were happy to visit the island for 4 days.

DAY 1: Jameo del Aguas and Cueva de los Verdes
Los Jameos del Agua – like La Cueva de Los Verdes – was formed by the lava flow from the eruption of the volcano, La Corona, which advanced while the surface solidified.

There is also an amphitheatre built in the rocks and sound is amazing!

Haria :
We stopped in a little and cute city named Haria. White houses, pink and red flowers and peace….

DAY 2: Timanfaya National Park and the Volcanos

I never saw something like this! It was like beeing, I don’t know, on MARS! Or walking on the moon….no nature, only black rocks everywhere. IT was really an incredible adventure and the kids loved it!

Once you enter the Park you can have a tour on a bus (complimentary with the ticket of the park) and after that the guide made some experiments to demostrate how the ground was still very hot (140 Celsius).

Beach of Papagayo
We had to pay (just 3 euros) to enter here. After 10 minutes of road in the middle of nowhere we arrived in 2 amazing beaches….It was paradise!

DAY 3.: Teguise
Amazing city with museums, and castels and great shopping and restaurants.
We also visited the Santa Barbara Castle on the top of the city and on the edge of the volcano Guanapay .  The kids loved to play pirates and princesses!
