Ramadan is a special month and Essential Oils could help in a natural way during fasting.
I learned about the holy month of Ramadan only when I moved here in Dubai. Before it was something that I heard of and I honestly had very poor informations and experience about it.
For the one who landed in my page and do not know what is is, Ramadan is the “sacred month when Muslims all over the world fast from sunrise to sunset – abstaining from food and drink, as well as from unhealthy lifestyle habits, negative attitudes and emotions, and sexual relations – as a way to devote themselves to their faith and come closer to Allah”.
For non-Muslims like me there are a few changes in the everyday life. Depending on where you live, of course. Here in Dubai it is prohibited to drink and eat in public. There are many areas or restaurants with covered places where to do so.
School starts one hour later and ends up at 1.30 pm. This year, with the Covid-19 we don’t really have the opportunity to feel the difference.
Home learning also change d the timing, but with the lock down we are not experiencing much difference.
It is a month of giving where everybody tries to help the people in need and it is a very good way to get also my kids involved.
I had recently a muslim friend from school asking me about some tips to use Essential Oils during this month.
It is not allowed to take medicine or anything else but natural remedies like Essential Oils can help the spirit and the body when diffused.
I will mention a few of the Essential Oils that I think they can support during this very important Month:
-
Peppermint
: One of my favorite and the most effective for concentration and for digestion. Very invigorating and fresh, the perfet during fasts.
Massage it on your belly for digestion (also Digize is very effective), on temples and back of the neck (be careful not to put it near your eyes!) to feel energy and refreshment and to support in case of headaches. is one of those oils which are very effective during fasts. It can really be helpful in regaining and maintaining concentration. Also it helps in digestion. Massage it on your belly if you have eaten too much during iftar and you’ll feel relieved and better.

Essential oils blends for
Balance and Calm
: These blends should always be part of your must have. Especially Peace&Calming.
Fasting can make you moody and nervous. So why don’t diffuse or “were” some calming and balancing oils?
I suggest:

Beside Balance why not working on promoting a positive mood?
Definitely use Joy or citrus oil like Orange , Bergamot and Citrus Fresh !

Ramadan is also a time for inner growth and meditation and forgiveness.
Use these oils to promote feelings of positivity like Joy and Forgiveness .
