On July 7, 2008 I decided to open my blog with an idea: to write about my experience as expatriate so that maybe that could help someone in my same situation or lifestyle.Actually that someone was me. I needed help because leaving Italy, my family, my friends, my culture and decide to go in another country in another country, another culture, other faces scared me to death. Mostly because I had to move with my little son, my first and I didn’t know anything about USA and my english…well… Of course, after spending a few years in South America, moving to New York was like a dream.To me it seemed a nightmare though. I was really scared to move in such a big city.Then I discovered that I could do it.And I did it. Now we’ll move for the fourth time and still the fear doesn’t seem to pass.But every time it is different. I’m afraid of the change of school, for my son who’s 5 years old now and I fear to feel alone. It takes a while, especially for a shy person like me, to feel at home in the new place.Here in Las Vegas for me is home right now. Too bad, we gotta move! San Francisco is waiting for us. Wonderful city, hope to find some new friends there soon. Along with the blog my characters were born: worldwidemom (moi, I, Ich, Me.), Udt or uomodeltunnel (man of the tunnel) aka my husband, my firstborn SuperT and here in Las Vegas was born Cimpri. The name worldwidemom … well you know pretty easy to imagine why, but my real name is Elena; uomodeltunnel because my husband does in fact work in tunnels and he’s a civil engineer. His real name is Alessandro and is truly the love of my life and we got married here in Las Vegas a year ago; SuperT aka SuperTommy that stands for Tommaso or Tommy.

SuperTommy because since he was born he was my baby with superpowers! And then Cimpri word that comes from Cimpripessa deformed by Tommy instead of Princess, but her name is Giulia (Julia). Why I am writing you all this? Because my blos, like my life, continues to change. From personal diary it became a place where to share my new discovered passion for the DIY, my sewing machine, wood … everything I can make with my hands. This is what really makes me happy: to create. And so my blog, which is like a mirror of my life, has changed and I no longer need to hide the names because I do not need to “badmouth”. What I have to say, I say it and that’s it.
